Example Student Scholar Budget

We will provide you with a stipend once we verify your attendance at GHC. This stipend should cover your travel related expenses such as you plane ticket, meals on travel days and other incidentals.

AnitaB.org provides the following, not to be included in your budget:

  • GHC Registration (Value of $350)
  • Hotel Accommodations (Value $480)
  • Meal Card (Value $85, no cash value)

To help you make sure the stipend covers your travel cost, we have provided example budgets for domestic and international scholars. Planning beforehand is essential to ensuring your expenditures are covered.

Some tips:

  • Book early and try to travel at non-peak times to lower the cost of your plane ticket
  • Check your airline fees. Some discount airlines tend to include substantial fees to keep their ticket prices low. They may ultimately cost you more.
  • Reach out to others on the Facebook group to see who is arriving at the same time. You can split the cost of transportation to the hotel!
