Step-by-step Guide

So, you’re interested in speaking at GHC 17. What should you do? We’ve created this guide to help you through the process.

First steps…

Step 1: Learn all you can about the Grace Hopper Celebration. Check out last year’s schedulesponsors, and award winners for inspiration.

Step 2: View all of our conference tracks and decide which one you’re most interested in. Our conference is built around different tracks, which are thematic areas with dedicated chairs and committee members.

Step 3: Once you’ve chosen your track, it’s time to pick a session format. We offer a variety, so you can choose one that fits your speaking style and topic. You may only submit one proposal per session type.

Step 4: Apply to speak. Applications close March 8, 2017 at 5 p.m. PT.

Step 5: Wait to hear from us. We expect to announce accepted speakers on May 10, 2017. Learn more about our review process here.

For accepted speakers

Step 6: Congratulations on being accepted as a GHC speaker! Confirm your participation to speak at GHC, and submit stage 2 of the Call for Participation application.

Step 7: Register to attend GHC 17. We offer speakers a complimentary one-day pass for the day they are speaking. If you would like to attend all three days, you will receive a discount on registration.

Step 8: Review our rules for speaking to ensure you’re prepared and know our expectations.

Step 9: Submit your slides using the templates. Track Session Speakers will need to use the 4:3 ratio template, while Featured Speakers will use the 16:9 ratio template. Check the slide notes for some tips about using the template. You’ll need to submit them to our speaker ready room system.*

Step 10: Attend and speak at GHC! Don’t forget to visit the Speaker Ready Room in person at least four hours before your scheduled session.
