Academic Institution: We define academic institutions as accredited, nonprofit, degree-granting higher education institutions. These do not include bootcamps, certificate programs, licensing programs, government agencies, national labs, university-affiliated employers and/or consortiums, and for-profit colleges/universities.

Student Registration: A student is defined as an individual who will be enrolled in an accredited, degree-granting program at an academic institution, as defined above, on a full- or part-time basis in October 2017. Student registrations are not available to those participating in: bootcamps, certificate programs, licensing programs, or for-profit colleges/universities, unless individuals are simultaneously enrolled at an accredited, degree-granting academic institution. You must show a valid academic institution identification upon badge pick-up.

Academic Registration: These registrations may be used for professors of various ranks, lecturers, and researchers who are based at an academic institution, as defined above. Acting presidents, deans, department chairs, and other administrators/staff members employed by an academic institution, as defined above, may also register as academics. You must show a valid academic institution identification upon badge pick-up.
