GHC 18 Hoppers Application

Hoppers are volunteers who receive a complimentary registration to the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) in exchange for their time completing various tasks during the celebration.

If we accept you into the Hoppers Program, you must:

  • Attend the mandatory orientation meeting at GHC 18 (Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the evening).
  • Be available for volunteer tasks during the three days of GHC 18.
  • Dedicate eight hours of your time to volunteer assignments during the event.
  • Commit to the assignments given to you (maximum eight non-consecutive hour spread over the three days of the celebration).
  • Pay for your own airfare, lodging, meals, and other expenses during GHC 18.

Due to limited space in the program, our selection process is competitive. We factor in availability during the celebration, commitment to the program, and experience volunteering in big events.

  • Hoppers must pay for their own airfare, lodging, meals, and other expenses during GHC.
  • If accepted, we will assign you two to three shifts for approximately eight hours total. You must be available Tuesday, September 25 in the evening for a mandatory orientation.
