Christine Cao is a Master of Science student at the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary. Her research focuses on applying circuitry optimization algorithms to develop student cohorts for Engineering Education. Outside of research, she is passionate about student advocacy. She routinely advocates to the university, elected officials in the Alberta provincial government, and Members of the Canadian Parliament on all issues related to graduate students. Christine has acted as a key leader in the Female Leadership Circle, where she has continuously mentored fellow female graduate students and undergraduate students. She co-organized two satellite conferences for the Stanford Women in Data Science Conference at the University of Calgary, and lead more than 50 female undergraduate students on trips to the Grace Hopper Celebration throughout the years. She is an incoming PhD student in Engineering & Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
