Karla Vega leads strategic health initiatives in AI & ML at Apple. She joined Apple 6 years ago with the acquisition of Turi, a machine learning startup. Prior to Apple, Karla worked for five years as a research engineer in visualization and data analysis at Indiana University, the Texas Advanced Computing Center at University of Texas at Austin and as a Research Affiliate at the MIT Senseable City Lab. Karla has a BS and MS in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Karla is originally from Colombia, loves cooking (and eating) arepas, and spends her free time playing with her dogs.
