Open Source Day: Planning Committee and Mentors
Applications are closed!
Apply to be a Committee Member
For 2021, we are recruiting Committee members who will help organize two Open Source Day events: OSD Summer (July), vGHC OSD 21 (September).
An OSD committee member is expected to lead and be accountable for the success of an OSD track. The OSD committee tasks are split between several areas of responsibility, which are called tracks:
- Coordinating with partner organizations includes ensuring organizations are prepared for the events, understand the expectations from each project, and the flow of events during OSD.
- Recruit and train mentors. OSD success relies on its mentors that support the participants through the day. In this role, you will collect the mentors’ requirements from the partner organizations, review applications, and train the selected mentors.
- Find and coordinate with speakers of the learning track. This includes collecting information through social media to create a list of topics, find speakers for these topics, coordinate material collections, dry runs, and day-of schedule.
- Creating content for our social media campaigns and website by working with the AnitaB.org marketing team, collecting testimonials from past participants before the event and from participants during the event. This also includes creating and analyzing post-event surveys.
Estimated Commitment: 10-20 hours a week starting in February 2021 and ending at the end of October 2021, post OSD 21 that will take place at vGHC 21.
Note: Our Open Source Day (OSD) Committee is separate from our Open Source Track Committee.
Thank you for your interest. Applications are closed.
