General FAQs

When is vGHCI?

The Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration India (vGHCI) is the largest technical conference for women in Asia. This year, we have developed an innovative approach to vGHCI. Instead of four consecutive days, we are expanding vGHCI to four consecutive Fridays, starting on February 19 and continuing on February 26, March 5, and March 12, 2021.

Sounds like a few things have changed. What is going to happen at vGHCI?

All Keynotes, Featured Sessions, Panels, Presentations, and Award Series will be available with unlimited capacity. Interactive sessions including Workshops, Mentoring, Networking, Career 360, etc. will occur with capacity limitations. Each sponsor company will still have a virtual “booth” page for you to visit; this will include all the resources and opportunities they have been planning to share. It is up to each sponsor company how they choose to make their recruitment and corporate representatives accessible.

Why have you changed the plan for VGHCI from a 4-day event to a day a week?

After great thought and deliberation in keeping the current situation with the pandemic, and how difficult it is to block off multiple days in a row while at home juggling family and work, we decided to set a format that would allow attendees the added flexibility and increased opportunity to manage personal responsibilities and navigate work priorities with ease.

Do you have an agenda for vGHCI?

The agenda is available on the vGHCI homepage. It will be updated closer to the date of the event, and attendees should expect to experience everything they normally would at Grace Hopper Celebration India.

How do I keep track of changes and updates on vGHCI so that I do not miss an opportunity?

We highly recommend following us on any of our social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn. You could also browse through this webpage for regular updates on our events, timelines, announcements, and programs.

Will there be a mobile app for vGHCI?

We are not offering a mobile app in conjunction with the online experience this year.

Since vGHCI is a virtual event, what platform will be used to conduct the event?

vGHCI is going virtual for the first time and we will be using a microsite with easy accessibility and maneuverability.

Why is vGHCI using a microsite versus a platform?

The microsite has proven to be more user friendly and allows our audience to have a better experience, without the imposing technical issues the platforms face. Therefore, we chose to have the celebration on this medium.

Why should I attend vGHCI?

vGHCI or Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration India is the 11th edition and is the largest technical conference for women in Asia. Attending this conference will mean you get to make connections, learn, and have an immersive technical experience. There are over 90+ sessions and 10+ tech Tracks that cover a myriad of interesting topics on technology. You can read all about this on our website.

Do I need to have a specific bandwidth to connect and enjoy the conference?

Since we are using the microsite to host vGHCI the only thing you will have to ensure is a stable internet connection.

Can my child(ren) or guest attend any of the sessions or events?

Attendance is limited to registered attendees only. Guests and anyone under the age of 18 are not allowed into any session, Expo, or activity.

Can a person who has been furloughed or has no job attend the event?

While we have planned an immersive event at a very reasonable rate that covers all four days.

Can a list of vGHCI registrants be provided?

To respect the privacy of all vGHCI registrants, we do not divulge or share registration information. There will be many ways in which to network with other registrants during the event.

Can I attend vGHCI if I am not a woman?

Yes, vGHCI is inclusive and welcoming of all.

Can I pre-register for sessions?

Session pre-registration will not be available. There are some sessions that are closed-door sessions and may have a limited capacity. Therefore, the attendance for these sessions will be on a first-come/first-serve basis.

How do I ensure that I am able to get the best experience and do not miss out on a particular session?

vGHCI offers a very immersive and exciting lineup of tracks, sessions, and speakers across all four-days. We highly recommend that you block your calendar after viewing the agenda so that you do not have to miss a session.

Is there a way to access sessions I may miss during other aspects of the event?

If you miss any of our incredible sessions, we are offering On Demand access to sessions (excluding workshops) and select keynotes. You will be able to view the agenda and choose content based on their original date and time. Content is available for 60 days post-event, until April 20, 2021. (Because workshops include interactive breakouts, we are unable to offer those On Demand.)

I have a disability and need to make a request. Whom should I contact about this?

Please contact IndiaQueries@AnitaB.org for any assistance.
