Dr. Kiana Karami is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Penn State Harrisburg. Her research investigates the methods for modeling and identification of nonlinear dynamic systems. She obtained her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary and her BS and MS in EE from Shiraz University and University of Colorado respectively. Kiana has received different scholarships, fellowships, and awards during her engineering education. She received iREDEFINE professional development award, an NSF-supported project on improving the diversity of faculty in ECE. Also, she has been active in presenting the results of her research at various international IEEE and IFAC conferences. Kiana is very interested in increasing the number of females in STEM and has organized trips to GHC in the past few years that deal with a large number of students. She is a member of Women of MENA in Technology community and Iranian (American) women in computing society.
