As Interpretech's founder and CEO, Lori A. Perine drives its vision to network people and technology for advancing technological innovation and value creation. Ms. Perine has broad experience in forging strategic partnerships and developing technology initiatives across and within government, industry, academia, and international organizations. She has over 15 years of experience in creating investment strategies for a variety of early stage and advanced technologies and their applications. Formerly the Deputy to the Associate Director, Technology, in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, she was particularly instrumental in shaping national policy and large-scale research initiatives for information technology and applications, technology innovation and commercialization, global competitiveness, and math and science education. Ms. Perine has also held positions as Senior Policy Advisor for Technology to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and economist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Her early career in international energy planning and management included positions at the World Bank and consultancies to other international organizations and major U.S. petrochemical corporations.
Ms. Perine completed doctoral studies at the Wharton School (ABD), received an M.S. in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and was graduated magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College with an A.B. degree in Mathematics. She studied Applied Mathematics at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, under the auspices of the IIE/Fulbright-Hays Program. She is fluent in French and reads several other languages. Ms. Perine serves on the board of several technology start-up companies and the Greater Washington chapter of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. She co-chairs the Innovation Team for the Potomac Conference, sponsored by the Greater Washington (DC) Board of Trade.
