“The most dangerous phrase in the language is – we’ve always done it this way.” – Rear Admiral Grace Hopper

All the content presented at the conference undergoes a rigorous review process. Each track is staffed with a highly qualified, passionate team of reviewers with a deep understanding of topical areas. The reviewers come from large and small organizations, academic institutions, government labs, startups, and nonprofits focused on K-12. They are looking for novel approaches and fresh perspectives in each submission. You can see a list of the GHC Conference Leaders and reviewers here – GHC Conference Leadership Team

Review process: AnitaB.org is committed to ensuring that the Grace Hopper Celebration conference review process leads to high quality and credible sessions.

All submissions are reviewed  on a fair and even-handed basis across all sub-disciplines.  AnitaB.org and the conference leadership team takes this into account when recruiting and instructing reviewers. Each reviewer prepares their review independently of other reviewers. The committee organizes a discussion of the submissions, but only between reviewers who have already submitted a full review in draft.  A high standard of written presentation is also expected. These criteria apply equally to all submissions.

Each submission is reviewed and assigned a rating based on –
* Relevance
* Soundness
* Importance
* Originality
* Quality of submission
Depending on the track and the reviewing needs, a proposal may have been reviewed by anywhere from 1-3 reviewers.

Once the Ratings are determined, the conference leadership team designs a well balanced program with content that allows our diverse attendee base comprised of students, early career, mid-career, and senior level women (from Industry, Government, and Academia), entrepreneurs, and K-12 educators to participate. Due to load balancing and limited program slots, not all meritorious submissions can be accepted.

By May 22nd, you will receive an email notification informing you of the decision of your submission. In order to preserve the integrity of the process, we do not change these decisions once they are made.
