CEO & Chief Development Officer, NIO U.S.

Padmasree Warrior is the CEO & Chief Development Officer of NIO U.S. She also serves as the Chief Development Officer of NIO and is a member of its board of directors. She is responsible for the brains of NIO’s autonomous, electric vehicles, as well as the overall user experience.

Previously, Padmasree served as the Chief Technology & Strategy Officer for Cisco, where she aligned the company’s technology and business strategy to business results. Previous to that, she was the GM for Cisco Enterprise and co-led Cisco’s worldwide engineering organization. Prior to joining Cisco, she was Executive Vice President and CTO at Motorola. Under her leadership, Motorola was awarded the 2004 U.S. National Medal of Technology.

Padmasree was awarded the World of Difference Award by the International Alliance for Women, the first Leadership in Science and Technology Award by the Aspen Institute, and the Global CTO Award by India’s National Association of Software & Service Companies. She has been recognized as a creative and influential leader by Forbes, Business Insider, the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and the Economic Times.

Padmasree holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.

In addition to the company’s board, Padmasree serves on the board of Microsoft and Spotify. She held previous board seats for Gap and Box. Padmasree is married and has a son.
