Paula Coto is the Executive Director of Chicas en Tecnología, a NGO which seeks to reduce the technology gender gap in Argentina and Latin America.
CET promotes cultural change to construct a technology that contributes to gender equity by generating evidence on digital gender gaps, training and supporting adolescent women, and strengthening the ecosystem that makes their academic and professional development possible, reaching over 11,600 young women in 18 countries of Latin America. Paula dedicates her efforts to reducing the barriers that inhibit girls and young women from becoming interested, developing and remaining in STEM areas, especially at a key age in their lives when they decide on their vocations and professions.
Formerly, Paula formed part of the leading team of Center for the Implementation of Public Policies Promoting Equity and Growth (CIPPEC), one of the most important Think Tanks in the region, through which she reached over 500.000 students from Argentina who benefitted from the implementation of inclusive and innovative education public policy. There she led the Educational Innovation and Justice Laboratory researching and providing technical assistance in the incorporation of information and communication technologies in schools to expand the development opportunities of the country’s students.
Paula teaches postgraduate courses on educational policy, STEM and gender. She is co-author of “Achievable Inspirations: 15 Outstanding Education Policies in Latin America”
Paula holds a Masters degree in Education from University of San Andrés, a Masters degree in Public Policy from University of Strathclyde (Chevening scholarship) and a bachelors in Sociology from University of Buenos Aires.
