Yen Azzaro has been illustrating and graphic recording for clients such as Ford Motor Co., Harman, and The Kresge Foundation for the last eight years. When she’s not holding a drawing utensil, she’s producing experiential art in the community. Along with her husband Nick, she is the Co-creator of the social art movement Y-Fi (www.ypsifidelity.com) and recipient of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation In Our Neighborhood grant. This two-year $50,000 award makes it possible for underserved high school students to create performance «interruptions» in public spaces such as museums, parking lots, and libraries.
This summer, Yen was named a Fellow in the Leaders of Color Fellowship by NEW: Solutions for Nonprofits and aims to delve deeper into illustrating social inequities in her county. Yen is an alumnus of the The University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design.
