Born and raised in Romania, Andreea Cirstea moved to America to pursue a college degree at Furman University. After taking her first introductory course to computer science her freshman year, she knew she found her passion for computing. Currently, Anreea is a sophomore working towards a degree in computer science. She is also involved in an ongoing Big Science research project.
“My overarching goal is to make a difference for the better in the lives of many people worldwide, especially those in developing countries. I hope to advance my skills in computing to where I can bring together a network of people and resources to help fight the poor socioeconomic statuses some people face and empower them to overcome their problems.”
