Elizabeth Churchill

Elizabeth Churchill (http://elizabethchurchill.com/) is director of human computer interaction at eBay Research Labs. Originally a psychologist by training, for the last 20 years she has worked on the design of innovative technologies for personal use, for communication and for social coordination.

Her most recent focus is on sociotechnical innovation within the commerce space. She has over 150 peer reviewed publications, over 40 patents issued or pending, five edited books, and has been a regular columnist for ACM Interactions. Her most recent co-authored book is entitled Foundations for Designing User-Centered Systems. She is the current Executive Vice President of ACM SIGCHI. She is also an ACM Distinguished Scientist and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Media X.

She serves on numerous journal, conference and event advisory boards. She recently joined the advisory board for the Mobile Life Research Center in Kista, Sweden and has been advising on the creation of a new initiative in Human Data Interaction with scholars in the United Kingdom.
