Marie L. Wieck

In her more than 25 years with IBM, Marie has held a variety of technical and executive roles in IBM’s hardware, software, services, strategy and corporate finance. In August 2010, Marie Wieck was named to her current position as general manager of Application & Integration Middleware (AIM) business unit. In this role, she leads an organization of more than 5,500 software development, marketing, services, and sales professionals. She is responsible for IBM’s WebSphere software portfolio and other strategic enterprise software products including integration and messaging software. She leads IBM’s growth initiatives on MobileFirst, Smarter Process and PureSystems solutions.

Marie started her career at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY in mainframe system development. She holds an M.B.A. from New York University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University and a B.S. in Engineering from The Cooper Union. She is a member of IEEE, SWE and NAFE. She is on the Engineering Advisory Council for The Cooper Union and is a board member of Charity Navigator and AnitaB.org. She is a co-chair of IBM’s Global Work/Life Council. She won the SWE Work/Life Balance Award in 2005, the President’s Citation from The Cooper Union for her contributions to technology, and an IBM Corporate Technical Recognition Award from IBM.
