2015 Volunteer

GHC 15 is over. Check out our Get Involved page for current opportunities.

Pay it forward at GHC this year and take advantage of these great volunteer opportunities! Take a couple of hours to give back to AnitaB.org and our communities.

These opportunities are available for GHC attendees only. You must be a registered attendee and plan on being in Houston during the conference.

Systers Buddy Up @ GHC

Are you a Syster? We’re looking for Systers who have attended GHC in the past to help first time attendees. There will be attendees that need advice and guidance on how to navigate GHC and learn how to design their perfect experience. Systers from all over the world can come together to get to know each other as well as help a new Syster make the most of their time at GHC.

If you don’t know about Systers, learn more and join the community.

Community Bloggers And Note-Takers

Every year, GHC has a vibrant and active community of bloggers and note-takers. With an amazing schedule this year, we do our best to cover as many sessions as possible. How about taking notes or blogging about a session? Join other GHC community volunteers to capture presentations, workshops, poster sessions and more.

Lunchtime Table Topics

Many discussions are often sparked in the hallways, in passing and especially at lunchtime. Sign up to discuss a topic and share your ideas, experiences and interests.

Speed Mentors for Mentoring Track

Attendees are looking for various mentors to give advice on career paths, graduate schools, start-ups and more. Consider giving an hour to speed-mentor students, early career and more in our mentor track.

ACM Poster Judge

The ACM poster competition will be held 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday night (10/14/15). Posters will be in the Community Fair throughout the conferences. Undergraduate finals will be held 12:40 p.m. and graduate finals at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday (10/15/15). You must be attending the conference and have a Ph.D to be a poster judge.

Open Source Day Mentors

Wednesday, October 15 is Open Source Day, where hundreds of attendees will contribute to the Free and Open Source Software community. As a mentor, you will be working with one of the eight Open Source organizations to help and guide the attendees participating in the Code-a-thon for Humanity.
