Amidst an array of leadership roles in business, IT, and risk management at a variety of organizations, Deborah «Deb» Dixson has spent eleven years at Best Buy over the course of several tours of duty. She most recently accepted an invitation to return to Best Buy in 2015 as Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Senior Vice President.
During her previous time at Best Buy, Deb became Best Buy’s first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and set up the original Information Security team. She established a board-mandated Global Information Security office and governance structure based on a blend of ISO/COBIT/PCI standards that set the foundation for a holistic, sustainable approach to security. This resulted in attaining PCI compliance across the U.S. and Canada as well as a recognition as an industry leader in information security.
A recipient of Best Buy’s Pinnacle of Leadership Award, Deb became the face of the organization to credit card brands on Payment Card Industry (PCI) and information security issues, representing Best Buy to the PCI Council.
Deb was a founding member of the Twin Cities Chief Security Officer Executive Summit. She was on the board of directors for the Minneapolis Heart Institute and the Freedom Initiatives. A participant in the MS Three Day 50 Mile Challenge walk for 10 years, she also served on the program committee for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Deb and her husband, Mark, have been married for 36 years and reside in Rosemount, Minnesota. They have three children and two grandchildren.
