Larissa Suzuki

Larissa Suzuki is a third year PhD student in software systems engineering at University College London. Her thesis aims at contributing to a growing body of knowledge about smart cities and urban data management. Larissa is the founder and president of the UCL’s Student Society of Women Engineers. She has received the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship in 2012 as well as the Intel Doctoral Student Honor Programme Fellowship in 2013.

“I got fascinated and amazed with all the possible applications of computing to solve major challenges faced by society. From operations management to digital pathology, from climate and environment to security and protection, I realized it was possible to make real contributions and solve problems in ways never before thought possible.”
