Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader
Michelle Rakshys is Chief of Staff to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team at Amazon, and the former President of the Women@Amazon affinity group. She focuses on using data to make measurable changes to the diversity of the workforce globally, creating an inclusive environment, and investing in the career development of all employees.
Prior to her roles in the diversity space, she managed a software engineering team and design team at Amazon. Earlier in her career, she worked at Responsys/Oracle and The Syndicate, was on the board of Women in Music and was a lecturer at King’s College. Outside of work, she’s a board member for the Mensa Foundation, which gives away over $200k annually in scholarships to college students, grants to researchers, and awards to individuals or organizations that support education. She also sits on the committee for the No Child Sleeps Outside campaign for Mary’s Place, which drove $3 million in donations last year. She hosts a web series on AnitaB.org, and has been a speaker at events such as the Grace Hopper Celebration, Ladies Get Paid and Geek Girl, hosted events for Future For Us and Built By Girls, and is the Scholarship Chair for her local Mensa chapter.
