2014 Grace Hopper Celebration Achieves Record Registration, Expands Capacity

General Registration Is Wait Listed.

PALO ALTO, CA, August 6, 2014AnitaB.org (ABI), a non-profit organization focused on advancing women in computing today announced that it has received unprecedented demand for participation by organizations and individuals at the 2014 Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC).  Last year, AnitaB.org hosted 4,700 attendees at GHC in Minneapolis, and as of now, registration has almost doubled. Capacity for the 2014 event to be held in Phoenix, AZ., is 8,000 attendees, a year-over-year growth of approximately 70 percent.

Even with the increase in capacity, however, beginning today, some types of registration will only be available through the use of a registration code or a wait list.  Academic registration for students and faculty remains open. Individuals and organizations that have registration codes can continue to register using those codes. All codes must be redeemed by September 19, 2014.

“AnitaB.org is once again extremely proud that our annual GHC event has garnered such interest and excitement,” said Telle Whitney, AnitaB.org President and CEO. “We are grateful to all those interested in attending and believe that these record registration numbers demonstrate the strength and vibrancy of the growing community of women technologists and, a desire by more women to pursue technical careers.”

AnitaB.org encourages people who had hoped to attend but are not yet registered, to visit the website to register or to sign up for the wait list. These individuals will be notified as space becomes available. All attendees must be registered in advance of the event, there will be no onsite registration.
