Yvonne Schneider

Yvonne is Senior Vice President and Group CIO, Global Corporate Systems Technology, the organization responsible for providing strategic direction for and supporting the end-to-end technology for the company’s global operation.   The team focuses on enabling American Express to be best-in-class across shared and non-shared service processes driven by Finance, Global Business Services (GBS), and Human Resources.  Additionally the team provides robust and innovative global servicing offerings for the World Service and Global Credit Administration units in support of every card member worldwide.

Yvonne is a member of the AET, Finance and HR Executive teams.  She is the Executive Sponsor for the Women In Technology (WIT) employee network, which launched during 2011, and focuses on the recruitment, development and advancement of women in Technology-oriented careers.  Yvonne also represents AET on the US Diversity Council.

Yvonne has more than 30 years of experience in the computer and information technology industry. She began her career in the Oil and Gas industry, concentrating on economic models and simulations utilizing mainframe expertise.  Since 1989, her focus has been on the automation of the Travel and Entertainment and Financial industries utilizing PC, midrange, client server, web and wireless/mobile architectures.

During her career at American Express, Yvonne served in the Service Delivery Network in Phoenix leading the MIS Delivery team and enabling a broader ability for Global Corporate Services to deliver a positive customer experience for corporate reporting.  She also held various Product Development roles in Global Commercial Card, Global Business Travel, and Corporate Services Interactive, forging many industry partnerships and delivering several industry ‘firsts’, such as the global data repository for Commercial Card and Business Travel.

Yvonne earned a Computer Science degree, with a minor in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas.  She has a community focus on feeding the hungry, having served three terms (10 years) on the Houston Food Bank board of directors.  During her term, she served as Chair, Post-Chair, and Development Committee Lead for a large Capital Campaign.
