Although tech conferences are focusing more on promoting diversity and inclusion, they still usually have very few women and minority speakers. Some conferences use the excuse that there simply aren’t enough qualified female and minority technicians to choose from. As Forbes Magazine points out, however, there are plenty of other tech events that focus specifically on women and minorities, including the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC).
“[GHC16] alone drew more than 15,000 attendees, the vast majority of them women, to hear presentations from other women in tech,” the Forbes article states. “So, tell me again how there are not enough qualified women to speak at your event.”
