Samantha Houston

Athough originally from Austin, Samantha Houston is now a computer science major at Sam Houston State University in east Texas. Her concentration is in digital forensics and information assurance. When Samantha is not studying, she is a resident advisor for one of the residence halls on campus. In her free time, she enjoys origami and cooking.

“My father is a programmer and I was always a natural on a PC. At first I rebelled against this talent, since I didn’t want to be a “nerd” or follow in the cliche of my dad’s footsteps. Then I took a computer science course and my teacher encouraged me and taught me that being a nerd is ok! (And my dad is proud of me too!)”
