AnitaB.org is monitoring the progress of Hurricane Irma, as well as additional storms forming in the Atlantic. Our first concern, of course, is for the safety of the people in the storms’ immediate path. But as we approach the 2017 Grace Hopper Celebration, we are also extremely concerned about the safety and comfort of all of our attendees, speakers, sponsors, and vendors.
Florida government agencies are taking all necessary steps to protect the state as much as possible as the storm approaches. Orlando, which is located in Central Florida, is not expected to bear the brunt of the hurricane, but we remain in close contact with the Orange County Convention Center staff as they prepare for landfall.
Until we know more, we are moving forward with our plans for an inspiring and meaningful celebration in October! We can’t wait to see you in Orlando.
