Justin Rattner

Justin Rattner is president of the Intel Foundation as well as an Intel corporate vice president and Intel Senior Fellow.

From 2005 to 2013, Rattner was Intel’s Chief Technology Officer and managing director of Intel Labs, the 1000-person research arm of the company and winner of the 2012 Intel Quality Award. As head of Intel Labs, Rattner was responsible for the company’s global research efforts in computation, communication, user experience, and human interaction technology. While CTO, Rattner created a new business venture activity within Intel Labs that took promising research results and turned them into new technology-based businesses in silicon photonics, graph analytics, a thumbnail-sized, wireless computer system known as Intel® Edison, and a new, highly-visual, social networking platform.

Rattner is also a popular lecturer, keynoter and panelist at technology and innovation conferences around the world. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. Most recently he received L’ami de l’Europe (Friend of Europe) Innovation Luminary Award from the Innovation Strategy and Policy Group of the European Union. He was named Intel’s first Principal Engineer in 1979, its fourth Fellow in 1987, one of the initial five Intel Senior Fellows in 2002.

Rattner serves on the boards of the Intel Foundation and the company’s Intel Federal subsidiary. He is a Trustee of AnitaB.org for Women and Technology, and a member of the Engineering College Council of Cornell University.

Rattner holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Cornell University.
