Kate Nelson is a nursing major at California State University, San Marcos. She has been working in the healthcare field for over 8 years and had developed a strong drive to see how electronic communication can enhance patient understanding and involvement in their care. Kate presented a resolution at the California SNA Convention “In Support of Patient Access to Electronic Health Records: Empowering Patients by Improving Online Based Communication”. Kate also has an ongoing research project to design a mobile app for kids with chronic health conditions.
