Tali Marcus is a senior at Wellesley College studying psychology and computer science. Tali helps teach an engineering and robotics program to kindergartners using ScratchJr, a blocks-based programming language developed at the MIT Media Lab and Tufts University. She is in the process of establishing a chapter of Robogals at her school, which is a club that runs robotics workshops as well as encourages young women to enter STEM fields.
“I believe that the best way to encourage more women to pursue computer science is to introduce them to programming as young girls, before they begin to internalize stereotypes about who is and is not suited to be a programmer.”
