Sarah Hubbard

Sarah Hubbard is a Program Manager at Microsoft on Azure IoT Central. In her time at Microsoft, she has also worked on mixed reality incubation experiences and Skype. Her interests primarily lie at the intersection of technology and society through topics such as human-computer interaction, technology policy, computer science education, as well as initiatives for building inclusive teams and products. She is one of the authors of Toys That Listen: A Study of Parents, Children, and Internet-Connected Toys, featured in ACM CHI 2017 and FTC PrivacyCon 2018.

As a student at the University of Washington, Sarah worked at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy where she collaborated with Senior White House Officials to launch the Climate Education and Literacy Initiative, White House Women in STEM webpage, and a variety of computer science education initiatives such as having President Barack Obama write a line of code.

Sarah is an advocate for diversity in STEM and has spoken on this topic through the Womenetics Global Women’s Initiative, Girls Who Code, and Microsoft. Sarah is excited about fostering inclusive teams, exploring new developments in the field of human-computer interaction, and building products that will accelerate us into the future.
