Announcing Our First Three GHC 19 Featured Speakers

We are proud to announce three of our GHC 19 featured speakers!

Each year at Grace Hopper Celebration, our featured speakers take the stage to discuss their work, share their stories, and encourage other women technologists. We’ve got a great lineup of featured speakers this year, and we know you’ll find their sessions to be both compelling and inspiring. Here are just some of the featured speakers you can look forward to seeing at #GHC19.

Morgan DeBaun

Since launching Blavity Inc. in 2014, Morgan DeBaun has led the company to successfully acquire Travel Noire, a travel platform for Black millennials, and Shadow And Act, a Black entertainment news site. She launched several profitable consumer summits, including Summit 21, the largest influencer conference for Black women, and the Bay Area’s AfroTech, the largest tech conference for Black innovators and founders. Morgan is also the founder of M. Roze Essentials, a natural skin care product company, and WorkSmart, an advising program that teaches small business owners how to scale their business.

Dr. Fei-Fei Li

An unprecedented thought leader in AI through her revolutionary computer vision research, Fei-Fei has had transformational industry impact democratizing AI, pioneering future technological innovations, and advocating diversity in STEM and AI internationally. She is the Professor and Director of Stanford University’s Human-Centered AI Institute, and is the lead inventor of ImageNet. ImageNet, a collection of 15 million precisely labeled photographs organized into 22,000 categories, advanced machine vision through intensive exposure to the visual world.

Palak Shah

Palak Shah is a social entrepreneur, a leader in the social movement for workers’ rights in the new economy, and a thought leader on the future of work. She serves as Social Innovations Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA), leading NDWA’s national strategy on raising market norms and standards, building scalable and sustainable business ventures, and partnering with the private sector. Palak is also the Founding Director of NDWA Labs, which experiments with how technology can improve job access and job quality for domestic workers.
