Diversity drives our open source community, and GHC 23 OSD aims to enhance it further. Engage in an all-day virtual hackathon, collaborating with peers and mentors to make valuable contributions. Alternatively, level up your skills with interactive projects and workshops.

The included Projects encompass a wide spectrum, from humanitarian initiatives to woman-led endeavors, and captivating projects proposed by our esteemed partners. The hands-on workshops, covering both technical and non-technical aspects include GitHub 101, Accessibility in Open Source, Blockchain, Testing Strategies & Tools, Security in Open Source, Conquering the Fear of Contributing, and even Making Money in Open Source. To participate in GHC 23 OSD you must be registered for GHC 23.

What is GHC 23 Open Source Day?

GHC 23 Open Source Day (OSD) is an exciting all-day virtual hackathon! Collaborate with peers and experienced mentors to make meaningful contributions to projects. Level up your open-source skills and gain valuable insights from workshops designed to empower you in the open-source community. Experience a full day of learning at our event! Attendees have the flexibility to choose between the AM and PM blocks, both providing a complete experience.

AM Block: Begin with the keynote & co-chair kick-off, delve into projects (stay for the full 2 hours if desired), explore workshops, and enjoy a networking break.

PM Block: Start with a networking break, then join the keynote & co-chair kick-off, engage in projects, participate in workshops, and conclude the day.

Workshops are independent of projects/coding, welcome sessions, and networking breaks. For exclusive Open Source workshops at GHC 23, OSD is the destination. Open Source Level up Labs will not be available Wednesday-Friday. All skill levels are welcome. To participate in GHC 23 OSD, you must register for GHC 23.

What projects will be available?
