Dr. Laleh Behjat is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Chair for women in Science and Engineering – Prairie Region. Her research interests include developing software for the automation of the design of integrated circuits. She has won several awards for her research and is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design and ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems. Laleh has a passion for increasing the status of women in STEM and leads a research program on issues related to design for diversity, innovation and creativity. She was a member of the Google Computer Science Advisory board. She has started a leadership training program for early-career women in science and engineering where she works on training the next generation of STEM leaders who will be making the world more sustainable.
