Avani Wildani is a postdoctoral fellow at The Salk Institute for Biological Sciences. She works to understand the dichotomy between simple and complex cells in the feline primary visual cortex. She uses both Python and Matlab for data analysis and simulations. She also works on breast cancer research and is working more specifically on gene analysis for breast cancer.
“My passion is understanding how we store information in our brains, and what it even means to know or understand something. It boggles me that in 2014 we know so little about the nature of cognition, and I would like to spend my career addressing that.”
