Dr. Francine Berman

Dr. Francine Berman is the Edward P. Hamilton Distinguished Professor in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). In 2009, Francine was the inaugural recipient of the ACM/IEEE-CS Ken Kennedy Award for her leadership in national-scale cyber infrastructure.

Francine is U.S. lead of the Research Data Alliance and currently serves as Chair of the AnitaB.org Board of Trustees. She has previously served as Director of the San Diego Supercomputer Center and Vice President for Research at RPI. Francine has been recognized as one of the top women in technology by Business Week, Newsweek, and IEEE Spectrum.
