We are excited to share the 2014 Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) poster. The art was created specifically for GHC by French artist, Marie Bertrand, based on our 2014 theme “Everywhere. Everyone.”
Each year we commission a new poster to represent the Grace Hopper Celebration. Recently the poster artwork has been based on the conference theme and created by a different artist. We select the artist through an anonymous process that is gender neutral: the name, gender and nationality of the artist are not revealed until a selection is made based on samples from the artists’ portfolio. After an artist has been selected, we work with them to create an original illustration that represents the theme of that year’s conference.
This year’s artist is Marie Bertrand. She is known for her brightly-colored and lyrical illustrations featured in editorial, commercial and stock art projects as well as her own body of work.
The theme “Everywhere. Everyone.” was selected by GHC 2014 General Co-chairs, Wei Lin and Tiffani Williams, Program Co-chairs, Lilia Paradis and Christine Alvarado, in partnership with the Director of the Grace Hopper Celebration, Seema Gururaj. It is based on the idea that technology is everywhere today and that it impacts everyone. Because of its impact on our world everyone should and can participate in developing technology.
